Regular Time Out Tokyo readers will be familiar with our ‘Things to Do’ guide maps: the pocket-sized city guides that help you find Tokyo’s best bits, one area at a time. In the past, we’ve featured Shibuya, Harajuku, Roppongi, Shinjuku and Nihonbashi, in addition to the consistently popular 88 things to do in Tokyo guide.
The series now continues with two new additions: 50 things to do in Marunouchi, created in collaboration with Mitsubishi Estate, takes you on a tour of Tokyo’s dynamic business district, steeped in history and home to scores of excellent restaurants and cafés, stylish shops and must-see attractions, in addition to the unique Imperial Palace area. The map also features a specially prepared 24-hour guided tour of Marunouchi, highly recommended for first-time visitors and regulars alike, along with a quick guide to the Imperial Palace’s East Gardens.
Our other new map, 50 things to do in Yokohama, takes you south to the great port city famous for its Chinatown, futuristic architecture and gorgeous seaside views. Working together with Yokohama City, we’ve put together a list of 50 unmissable things to do in this most international of Japanese cities, plus 10 convenient pointers that’ll help you get around in style. Foodies will love the many insider tips for everything from fancy French restaurants to ultra-fresh sushi and Chinese street delicacies, while shoppers, adventurers and families with children will also find this guide to be essential reading.
Both new guides are now available at distribution points across the city, from the Haneda Airport International Terminal’s information counter to the Shibuya Station Tourist Information Centre, as well as at several Tokyo hotels and tourist information centres in both Tokyo and Yokohama. You can of course also pick up your copies at our very own Time Out Café & Diner in Ebisu, or order directly from our Map Store.
